Theory of Probability and Mathematical Statistics

Probability theory and mathematical statistics, as one of the theoretical and applied areas of modern mathematics, study mathematical models of random events and processes occurring in nature. Probability theory reveals the mathematical laws governing random events and processes - the laws of probability, and provides methods for studying them. Mathematical statistics as a science develops along with the theory of probability and, in a sense, studies inverse problems studied in probability theory, and also studies the estimation of the parameters of statistical models and testing statistical hypotheses about them.

The practical significance of the subject is determined by the fact that probability theory and mathematical statistics have a wide range of applications (economics, medicine, banking, insurance, etc.).

The methodology for assessing this subject is written and oral.
