Rectors of Turkish universities visit BSU
12/03/2022Rector of Baku State University (BSU) Elchin Babayev has met with a delegation of the Republic of Turkey, represented by Bunyamin Sahin, rector of the Tokat Gaziosmanpasha University; Mehmet Dursun Erdem, rector of International Balkan University; Harun Yurdakul, Head of the Sıla company and Gözde Çolak, the second secretary of the Embassy of Turkey in Azerbaijan.
Rector Elchin Babayev said that Turkish-Azerbaijani friendship and brotherhood are at the highest level today, and the two countries are always with each other in all matters. He spoke of the BSU`s history, and its international relations. Elchin Babayev expressed interest in cooperating with Turkish universities and touched upon the Erasmus and Mevlana exchange programs. BSU rector proposed to create a department for study of Azerbaijan at the International Balkan University and a joint scientific and educational institution with the University of Tokat Gaziosmanpasha.
Mehmet Dursun Erdem, rector of International Balkan University, in turn, stressed that they are on official visits to Azerbaijan in preparation for the The 7th INCSOS International Congress of Social Sciences. He invited BSU scientists to actively participate in the Congress.
The 7th INCSOS will be organized under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mustafa ŞENTOP, the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, and Prof. Dr. Sahibe GAFAROVA, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the cooperation of the International Balkan University and cooperation with the Azerbaijan ADA University, by focusing on issues such as the liberation of Karabakh from occupation.
